Lyrics to Desert Eagle's Song

Sunrise, Desert Eagle flies,
Away from all the people with the coins in their eyes.
She's soaking up each new day with the beating of her wings,
And her heart fills up with joy, as the land begins to sing;
Sunrise
Move slow, the way the soft winds blow.
Learn all the things that the rocks and rivers know.
She's falling toward her center, to a place she cannot fill
With the fierce flame of a loving, or the hot spark of a kill, still
Hollow
In a cage made of numbers, in a world made of steel,
Where they can love without touching, and they kill but never feel,
Somewhere Desert Eagle's soaring, but they turn their eyes away;
And though her prison door stands open, still she chooses to stay
One more day
Bridge:
So when you're tired of bread 'n' circus,
I will feed you truth.
And when your God gives you nothing but shame,
I will show you beauty.
When the price for your dreams gets too high,
I will waken you.
And if you're tired of running, but going nowhere
Learn to walk with me;
Learn to fly.
Sunrise, the tears are in her eyes;
Tire tracks surround the place where the eagle's body lies.
So she takes him to his resting place, and she takes his name in memory,
And she whispers her goodbyes.
And she whispers her goodbyes.
Sunrise.

Notes:
Desert Eagle is the one person in the world who most personifies for me a true native of the planet Earth, and a true high priestess, a messenger of the Goddess' beauty. Her patient efforts have brought me closer to the Mother and taught me to love her even more. My 16 years of friendship with her have honored me with the privilege of watching her become not only a lover of Earth but a teacher and artist in Her name. This song is not only about who she is, but who she wants to be. It is also about a true story from which she took the name Desert Eagle.
